Iron Maiden: “The Book Of Souls”

La leggendaria band inglese, icona incontrastata dell’Heavy Metal, ha annunciato la pubblicazione di un nuovo studio album, “The Book Of Souls”, questo il titolo, vedrà infatti  la luce il 4 settembre via Parlophone Records ed i fan di tutto il mondo non stanno già più nella pelle all’idea di poterlo ascoltare.Due le novità: la prima riguarda la casa discografica, sembra infatti interrotto il sodalizio trentennale con la Emi, major discografica britannica che dal lontano 1980 ha pubblicato ininterrottamente (per ben trentacinque anni) gli album degli Iron Maiden. La seconda novità riguarda proprio la natura dell’album.Con The Books Of Souls la band ha in serbo un doppio disco, undici tracce per ben novanta minuti di musica inedita. Ci si potrebbe forse aspettare un concept-album, o comunque un lavoro molto impegnativo. Niente di nuovo invece sul versante della produzione affidata ancora una volta al mentore Kevin Shirley, già a lavoro sul precedente disco del 2010 “The Final Frontier”Di seguito la dichiarazioni di un redivivo ed entusiasta Bruce Dickinson e di Steve Harris:
«We’re really excited about The Book Of Souls and had a fantastic time creating it. We started working on the album in late summer 2014 and recorded it at Guillame Tell Studios in Paris, where we’d done the Brave New World album back in 2000 so the studio holds special memories for all of us. We were delighted to discover the same magical vibe is still alive and very much kicking there! So we immediately felt at home and the ideas just started flowing. By the time we’d finished we all agreed that each track was such an integral part of the whole body of work that if it needed to be a double album, then double its going to be!» (Bruce Dickinson)«We approached this album in a different way to how we’ve recorded previously. A lot of the songs were actually written while we were there in the studio and we rehearsed and recorded them straight away while they were still fresh, and I think that immediacy really shows in the songs, they have almost a live feel to them, I think.
